TORONTO—Canada’s hotel industry is suffering a major shortage of supplies as customers have taken to the streets in cities across the country to protest high hotel prices and an overall lack of hotel rooms.
The country’s largest hotel chain, the Ryerson Group, reported Thursday that it had run out of room in its Toronto and Vancouver hotels and it is asking people to help them by sending them hotel supplies.
In Toronto, for example, more than 3,000 hotel rooms are unavailable, Ryerson said.
It said people who need to be at a hotel to rent a room can sign up for a free hotel booking via Ryerson’s website.
The company said it has started selling hotel vouchers and has also started selling its hotel room reservation system.
Ryerson has also begun accepting payments through the website of its sister company, the Hotel Canada Group.
The hotel chain said that a number of hotels in the U.S. and Europe are experiencing a similar shortage.
In the U: “The U.K. has had a shortage of hotel room inventory for some time,” Ryerson CEO Richard Jones said in a statement.
“We’re confident that the U.”s.
will have sufficient supply of hotel accommodation by next week.
“In the European Union, there are shortages in the hotels that are already in operation, a spokesman for the European Commission said.
“So we are seeing hotels in Europe being closed, and our message is to those guests that are in these hotels to keep on arriving.” “
The situation in some countries is so critical that the European hotels are unable to operate, even though they are fully staffed,” the spokesman said.
“So we are seeing hotels in Europe being closed, and our message is to those guests that are in these hotels to keep on arriving.”
Jones also said that hotel companies in the United States and other parts of the world are also facing a shortage, as they have limited space in their buildings.
“Some hotels are going to close in the coming days, and if you are coming in from the U., you may have to move to another city,” Jones said.
The Ryerson group is Canada’s largest company, with operations in more than 160 countries.
